Obituary
Biographical Sketch
Teresa Ellington Goldsmith was born the youngest of ten children to Lucious and Annie Ruth Ellington on June 26, 1962 in Orlando, Florida.
She attended the public schools of Orange County, Florida, and was a proud graduate of Jones High School, class of 1980. During her years at Jones, she was always an attendant in the Royal Court, she was a cheerleader and sang in the choir. Teresa attended Bethune-Cookman College where she graduated in 1984 with a B. S. Degree in Sociology.
After graduation, she worked as a social worker for state of Florida for several years, then became a cosmetologist, and later employed in productions at Merita Bakery until her untimely death.
Teresa was once married to Dennis Goldsmith and were the proud parents of their beautiful daughter, Sherrielle in 1988.
Teresa was a faithful member of St. Mark AME Church for more than 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lucious and Annie Ruth Ellington and sister, Evelyn “Von” Lampkin who passed in 2008.
On Wednesday, February 17, 2010, the Lord dispatched a special angel by Teresa’s bedside to escort her to her eternal home in Glory.
Teresa was full of life, outgoing and just enjoyed people. She was always a favorite at family functions as well as the family songstress. The voice of a nightingale, her million dollar smile will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Teresa leaves a legacy of precious and everlasting memories to be cherished by her loving daughter, Sherielle Goldsmith; three brothers, Stephen Ellington (Helen), Jerome Ellington, Morris Ellington (Mandy); five sisters, Juanita Ellington Jessie, Delphine Ellington Morris, Wilma Ellington Williams, Clentoria Ellington and Doris Ellington Smith (John); three adopted sisters; uncle, Johnny Ellington (Pearl); aunts, Evelyn Ivory, Mabel Crawford (Willie), and Thelma Ellington; and a host of nieces, Nephew, cousins and sorrowing friends.
