Obituary

Linda Joyce Holt was born on June 19, 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida. Her father, the Late Uylesses Holt and Annie Lou Holt raised her in Orlando, Florida, where she attended the public schools of Orange County Florida. She was a life-long member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was both saved and baptized under the leadership of Rev. H.L. Bradley. She served on Usher Board #2 for many years.

After graduation from high school, Linda matriculated to Florida Memorial College in Miami, Florida, where she received a B.A. in Social Work. Linda utilized her formal education and training to serve thousands of needy youth in the Orange County Public School System for more than 30 years.

Linda loved people and always saw them for what they could be rather than totally focusing on their current positions. “She had hope in you and your situation even when you had given up on you,” says her daughter, Adriana. This is who she was, a born again Servant Leader, that knew and accepted her calling in life. Her radiant smile would literally light up a room when she entered it, and she’d often remind herself and others that “this too, shall pass.” Her faith in God and in the promises of His WORD were rock solid and she placed high value on educational opportunities.

Linda was loved by many and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves to cherish the many fond memories of her legacy:

children – Cedric Holt and Adriana Cosby, both of Orlando; mother – Annie Lou Holt of Orlando; grand-daughter – Aiyana “Na Me Nu” Cosby of Orlando; sister – Barbara Anderson of Orlando; brothers – Uylesses “Ricky” Holt of Atlanta, GA, and Tony Holt of Orlando; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends
