Obituary

Ernest Niblack was born in Orlando, FL on Christmas Day Sunday, December 25, 1932 to the Late Fred and Hannah Niblack. Ernest departed this life on Thursday, March 4, 2010.

Ernest graduated from Jones High School and pursued his educational goals by attending Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, FL. He later transferred to Florida A & M University (FAMU) where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.

Ernest married Mary Lee Drayton on June 24, 1957. He returned to his Alma Mater to receive a Master of Counseling degree.

He was a faithful member of Washington Shores Presbyterian Church until his demise where he served as an Elder, Trustee, Deacon, Clerk of the Session, Himsinger and Mass Choir member, Sunday School teacher, and worked wherever needed in the church.

Ernest lived a full and active life. He coached football at Hungerford and Jones High School. He was a Social Studies teacher and Guidance
Counselor for Orange County Public Schools. He later served as an academic counselor at Valencia Community College – West Campus. Ernest was one of the founders of Chi Tau Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity in Orlando. He was also a lifetime member of the Orlando NAACP. In addition, he as an avid golf player and a huge supporter of the Orlando Minority Youth Golf Association.

He was a great husband, father, and grandfather – a caring family man. Ernest leaves to cherish his memory, his faithful, supportive wife of 52 years – Mary; two daughters – Marcia Prewitt and Elaina Niblack; two granddaughters – Riva and Maya Prewitt; three sisters – Henrietta Wooten, Ruth Hayes, and Doretha Whittaker; three sisters-in-law – Gracie Chatman, Mable (Jimmy) Perry, and Esther (Fred) Stevenson; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends. We thank You, God, for blessing us with this Man of Valor —To God be the glory for the life of His servant, Ernest Niblack.
