Obituary

Annie Ruth Williams was born in Bellglade, Florida to John Wesley and Katie Williams, as the baby of the family. While she was still an infant, Annie Ruth and her family relocated to Orlando, FL, where she attended public school. She was a proud Jones High School graduate in the Class of 1967.

God created her to be a giver, and give she did. Annie Ruth had a heart of gold, and loved people. She was affectionately called “Nana” by her family. Spending time with her family and loved ones was one of her favorite things to do, amongst shopping and working.

Annie Ruth always presented herself to the youth as “Nana,” the Big Mama of the community, and a listening ear, always ready to serve. For forty-plus years, Annie Ruth served as the unit secretary for Orlando Health Systems/Winnie Palmer in labor and delivery. This was a testament to her dedication and commitment to whatever her hands found to do.

Annie Ruth was preceded in death by her parents – John Wesley and Katie Williams, and brother – Ronnie Teague. She leaves to cherish her memory her only child, her son – Macon (Jacqueline) Williams; two grandchildren – Marques Williams and Janaee Williams, both from Clermont, FL; one sister – Rev. Dorothy Cox Owens (Orlando, FL); silbings – Johnny (Patricia) Williams Jacksonville, FL, Jack (Elizabeth) Smith of Orlando, Gerald Williams from Dothan, AL, and Kimberly Williams of Dothan, AL; uncle – J.D. (Annie) Williams of Orlando; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
